All the social media platforms do have specific image size requirements to make your photos and graphics display correctly. Here is a quick general guide for some of the popular social media platforms as of my last knowledge update. It is always good to keep in mind that these requirements can change, so it is a good idea to double-check the latest guidelines and requirements on each platform's official help or support page.






  • Facebook:


    • Profile Picture: 180 x 180 pixels

    • Cover Photo: 820 x 312 pixels

    • Shared Image: 1,200 x 630 pixels

    • Event Image: 1920 x 1080 pixels

    • Link Image: 1,200 x 628 pixels


  • Instagram:


    • Profile Picture: 110 x 110 pixels

    • Photo Post: 1080 x 1080 pixels (square), 1080 x 1350 pixels (portrait), or 1080 x 608 pixels (landscape)

    • Stories: 1080 x 1920 pixels


  • Pinterest:


    • Profile Picture: 165 x 165 pixels

    • Pin Image: 1000 x 1500 pixels


  • LinkedIn:


    • Profile Picture: 400 x 400 pixels

    • Background Image: 1584 x 396 pixels

    • Shared Image: 1200 x 627 pixels

    • Company Logo: 300 x 300 pixels


  • YouTube:


    • Channel Profile Picture: 800 x 800 pixels

    • Channel Cover Photo: 2560 x 1440 pixels (for desktop), 1546 x 423 pixels (for smartphones), and 1855 x 423 pixels (for tablets)

    • Video Thumbnail: 1280 x 720 pixels


  • Snapchat:


    • Geofilter Image: 1080 x 1920 pixels

    • Ad Image: 1080 x 1920 pixels


  • TikTok:


    • Profile Picture: 200 x 200 pixels

    • Video Thumbnail: 720 x 1280 pixels


  • Tumblr:


    • Profile Picture: 128 x 128 pixels

    • Image Posts: 540 x 810 pixels (recommended)


  • WhatsApp:


    • Profile Picture: 800 x 800 pixels


  • Twitter:


    • Profile Picture: 400 x 400 pixels

    • Header Image: 1500 x 500 pixels

    • In-Stream Image: 1200 x 675 pixels


Always remember to use high-resolution images, photos, and videos follow each platform's guidelines properly for file formats (JPEG or PNG are common), and be aware of any size changes or updates that may have occurred since my last knowledge update in September 2021. It's always a good practice to check the official guidelines for each platform to ensure your images, and posts look their best on social media platforms.
